Despite some initial reservations - and admittedly a few terse replies festering in my head! I will treat this seriously, because you are honest enough to ask and at least to want to try.
Counselling relies on a trust being built between counsellor and client, and an ability on the part of the client to respond to open and rhetorical questions, and to the 'silences' which are part of the technique.
With the best will in the world I doubt very much that it would work effectively given differences in language, and the Thai way of deferring to questions.
I've never heard of there being a qualified counsellor in HH anyway - even if there were I would have these basic doubts. You might be lucky enough to find a farang who is able to help on an informal basis, and if you do I would be interested to hear how your wife responds. Best of luck

O.P. Sorry to read about your problem but Mag's reply is 'spot on'.
Counselling is more effective if the counsellor and client are from the same cultural background.
Following on from that advice you need to talk about your difficulties with someone who has a sympathetic and understanding ear to formulate a view as to what your best approach might be.
I hope you can resolve your dilemma.
