Weather??

Post by Lina »

Hi,

I will arrive to HH on friday this week - my first visit!!!
A little worried about the weather lately, I've heard a lot about rain and thunderstorms.

How is the weather now? Every forcast I find says different things... :?

Is the sun shining?

Thanks!

Hi Lina.
If you take a look at the frontpage of http://www.huahinafterdark.com/
scroll down a few lines, there you will find a weather report from Hua Hin.

Don't worry. You'll be seriously hot. You're coming at the start of the Thai summer. OK, you may get a bit of rain some afternoons, but believe me, you'll welcome it if it comes. :thumb:

I've actually been looking there for several days to see what the weather is like in Hua Hin - its not been there. Thank you for confirming my sanity - I thought I must have been imagining it previously.

I travel in 9 days, 9 hours and 24 minutes - I've ordered hot, sunny weather for the duration of my stay.

On the lefthand side just above the HHAD t-shirt lies an orange/black box with "Hua Hin, Thailand Get the 10 day forecast", a silhouette of some dude, and the temperature, its been there for about a year.

However its not very accurate, it currently says 29 degrees now and its far hotter than that, I usually find sticking ones head out of the window does the trick for an accurate glance at the days weather.

I agree that it has been there for most of the past year, and it was there about 2 weeks ago - I was quite shocked the last time that I looked because Hua Hin was foggy.

It aint there now :banghead:

Buksida,

Thats it - just the way I remember. If you've just accessed it as a mere user, then it must be getting sucked into the ether on the way to the UK. It aint appearing on my screen.

Anybody else in the UK getting it (the weather)?

Weather

Post by Lina »

Hi,

Thanks for your help. A bit more confused now, but I think Ii'll go for Hua Hin anyway. Weather channel says a lot of rain and t-storms in their forcast, Weather Underground says sunny.

I'll have to wait and see then... So you mean it's not raining all day when it's raining...

My first visit, I'm really looking forward to it!

Hi Lena.

No, it's not raining all day long.
So far this year we have had 1 day with rain.
Normally when it's raining, it rains for maybe 1 hour, then it's over.
As buksida earlier tried to tell you; you will welcome the rain!!!
We need it!!!
It purifies the air, and the temperature drops by 1-3 degrees.
Rain is cold in Europe, especially in Sweden and the Nordic countries, but in the tropics you will like it.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Lina,

To answer your question a little more specifically.

The weather here in Hua Hin has been unpredictable for the last 32 months. We have had the heaviest rainfall for 40 years followed by the driest monsoon season for 23 years and then followed by the second heaviest rainfall for 40 years. Last May and June it hit 40 degrees every day for six weeks. In November the balls were falling off brass monkeys. Then right in the middle of the dry season, a mere week or so ago, we had a very heavy electric storm which fortunately only lasted a few hours but a hell of a lot of rain fell in that short time.

However at the moment apart from the odd storm it is warm and mostly sunnyish.
