It's unfortunate to say but probably true that those inland reservoir beaches are probably much cleaner than the seaside. No foam containers, human waste, trash or ships blowing ballast when arriving in port. As said, no jellyfish, sand lice or other nasties, maybe the dead floating buffalo from time to time. :shock: :D Pete :cheers:

I've seen live buffalo swimming in them!
I visited one and there are now a couple of herds of wild buffalo living around it that have bred from a few left behind by the villagers that had to move out of the way to make the reservoir.

At the Kap Choeng beach there is this stretch of grass just past the sand and I thought great place to have a picnic as there was no one else sat there, before the picnic blanket and plastic mat had hit the ground we where being attacked by these giant biting ants that could jump too.
We had to make a quick dash for the sand bit.
