Getting things done out here is not always determined by your country of origin, it's more a matter of who you know. There was a drainage leak on my soi from a nearby property that resulted in a large pool of green mosquito infested water. After a few visits by my (Thai) wife to the municipality, nothing was done. The next visit, she was accompanied by our neighbor (a journalist with some apparent clout). They were immediately seen by the head of the Tessaban, who sent some workers back with them to check out the problem and it was fixed within a few days.

The same neighbor meets with the Tessaban periodically, and has asked me if there is anything I would like him to address. Perhaps if a number of concerned expats got together and pooled their resources, something positive could become of it.

The local Catholic church is the pits! The liturgy sucks, the Filipinos sing crap and bang tamborines by themselves, the tourists sit there and tap their feet. .nobody can sing that stuff and most dont even try.
as I was saying that I would pretend that the foreign language of the Thai mass was Latin.

And dont you think the municipality would listen if faced with a well organized farang group here? ( Face it. ..the way things are going we will outnumber the Thais here in 5 years anyway . . .for better or worse!!)

Chas - you are beginning to worry me....................

Sorry

If there is some attempted link up between HHAD and the Tessabahn or other Thai institutions, does anyone think that the heavy criticism that Thai officialdom often comes in for on these pages would be a barrier to co-operation?
