Thai Christmas Cards

Post by PeteC »

Is it too early to talk about this?......nahh, it's never too early to talk about Christmas! :D

As a community service to those in Hua Hin, please post where you see these for sale. For those of us not in Hua Hin, if you see any in the major chain stores in Bangkok or anywhere else, please post also.

I've found that best to post them to the West by mid-November if using cheap airmail to assure arrival before Christmas. They're always a big hit with those I send them too even though they usually mention New Year instead of Christmas, and usually are written in Thai. Pete

Central department stores usually have a good selection of both Thai and Western Christmas cards.

I can see the novelty value of them in the West - very attractive cards - but preferred to buy the hand made ones sold for charity. Usually available in the Post Office and made from pineapple paper. The only problem with them is sometimes uneven folding (which can easily be trimmed straight) and lack of a proper insert paper to write on. Again - easily put right with plain paper and a glue stick!
And BTW you will need the glue stick also to glue the envelope. In fact thinking about it they're a bit of a challenge.... TIT
