In case there are any weather nuts here, Davis Instruments now has a dealer located in Thailand where you can purchase equipment to set up your own personal station. Email received from them:

"Yes, we are a dealer for Davis Instruments in Thailand. Thank you very much for emailing us regarding the Davis Weather station products.

I am sending you the catalog of the Davis weather products.

There are 3 major weather station models:
1. Vantage Vue is 21000 Baht + 7%Vat.
2. Vantage Pro 2 is 28600 Baht + 7% Vat.
3. Vantage Pro 2 Plus with UV and Solar radiation sensors is 47800 Baht + 7% Vat.

You may need the software and data logger (WeatherLink, USB version). This is 8000 Baht + 7% Vat.

If you are interested in ordering the products, please let me know. So I could send you the invoice to sign and confirm your order.

Weather Porn http://www.stim.com/Stim-x/0596May/Feat ... porn1.html

Welcome to the world of weather porn, where none of the cast members have breast implants but every scene has major snuff potential. weather porn videos are compilations of camcorder footage of tornadoes and other severe weather phenomena, some of it shot by scientists, some by amateur storm-chasers, and some by inquisitive folks who happen to be in the right place at the right time.

It's useless if you don't need to know the weather for your job or your hobby. And i believe you can have the weather on internet or on your Iphone when you are outside, provided by people who have the best weather technology in the country. We all like useless things, if you are an amateur of weather it's worth to buy something like that ;-)

I have always said if I were head of the BBC I would ban two things without hesitation.
1 - The traffic report. If your at home who cares if your in it its too damned late!
2 - The weather report. If you want a truly 100% accurate weather report stick your head out of the window and open your eyes!

:lach: Tough audience! :D The country club here has their own and it's an intriguing piece of equipment. They sell thousands of these things yearly in the West so it seems to be a big hobby. Pete

Tough audience!
Pete, sometimes you remind me of my Dad (not a bad thing). When I was growing up he was generally too busy to watch much TV, but he never missed the evening weather report/forecast! :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
