Thai TV does rival Italian TV for mindlessness though. The politicos like it that way, narcotize the masses so they don't catch on to what's happening backstage.

One thing to keep in mind about TV anywhere is that it's often just a case of a cost related to viewing numbers.
Game shows and soap operas are cheap to make and get viewers, whereas documentaries are expensive and don't get so many.
That's why I don't watch TV!

Actor Rattapoom admitted to hospital

Actor and singer Rattapoom "Film" Tokongsap, who is mired in a paternity scandal involving actress Rungnapa "Annie" Brook and her three-month old baby, was taken to a hospital on Monday morning. He is reported to have taken an overdose of pills.
According to TV reports, a public relation officer of RS Promotion, the label Rattapoom works for, confirmed that the superstar was admitted to BNH Hospital about 7am.
His manager Panot Chaijinda said in a television interview in the morning that Rattapoom was admitted to an emergency unit of the hospital, but his condition was not critical.
Mr Panot said the actor has been under stress since the scandal broke and took tranquilisers before going to bed. This morning, they had difficuly waking him up. reports said.
He was reported to recovering after doctors flushed out his stomach.
