Golf in Bangkok

Post by Jaime »

Some friends of mine - a group of blokes on the way back from The Ashes cricket in Australia - are considering stopping off in Bangkok on the return journey for a few days.

Can any of you golfers recommend the best way (or the best tour company to use) for them to pre-arrange a round or two of golf in and around Bangkok?

Thanks in advance.

:cheers:

An initial thought Jaime is to get them to nail down the hotel in Bangkok where they'll be staying as a first step. If 3 star or above, the concierge can arrange all for them. They can enquire/book directly with him when they make their reservations.

As an alternative, it doesn't take much longer to get to Pattaya from the airport than it does to get to Bangkok. A dozen or more courses within a 30 minute drive from there. Pete :cheers:

I have played golf at many courses in Bangkok with friends. I have always used Hua Hin Golf Tours. They are perfect, the costs are the same as booking thru a hotel in Bangkok. Last time they even sent a private chauffeur from Hua Hin to look after us in Bangkok for 4 days at no extra cost.

I don't think we've ever defined it before, but the below is a listing of what they call "Bangkok golf courses". Of course there are no golf courses in Bangkok, except the small chip and putt or par 3 that's in the infield of the horse race track next to Lumpini Park, and the runway course at Don Muang. I don't know where all the below are, except to say they are probably 45-60 minutes from the city east, north or west. That basically puts them in Chonburi, Ayudhaya, or the next province west of Bangkok? Can you shed some light on locations expat71NL? Pete :cheers:

Maybe you could do your mates a favour .Tell them to go straight to BKK and save their money because we (aussies ) are going to flog you Poms in the Ashes .Then they will have more time to play golf and less time to cry. :P :wink: :P :wink: :P :wink:

* Panya Indra Golf Club
I've read some interesting things about the "19th hole" at that course... :shock:
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
