Where i can find aquarium fishes and plants ?

Has anyone seen those coffee table fishtanks in huahin area recently,saw some in market village a couple of years back,not seen anywhere since fancy one now.

This sort of thing?

The shop in market village is pretty good as the guy gave me some nice advices even if it's a little more expensive than in the market.

The guy in Market Village basement once tried to sell me some baby Alligator Gar, Redtail Catfish and Tiger Catfish.

These little fellas were only about 10cm long and ranged in price from about THB 400 to THB 600 each.

I asked him how big they grow and wht do they eat

He told me that they don't grow too big, are great for aquariums and eat normal fish food.

He was surprised when I told him that we have Gar, Redtails and Tigers to 20kg each at the lodge, and that they keep the Pla Nin population in check.

Check what species you buy and WHERE you buy them from first. I would wholeheartedly recommend the fish market at Ratchaburi http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... =7&t=14435 as per Buksi's post on 23 September

One of my Redtails was donated by a guy who had had his fish tank involuntarily emptied by said occupant...................

I will go there for my second aquarium, so not yet. Do they sell aquariums too or only fishes ?

If you mean the Nong-Or Water World near Ratchaburi the answer is YES

If you want ANYTHING relating to freshwater fish - tanks, pumps, fittings, accessories and of course the fish - then this is the place to go.

The prices are also much cheaper than in Hua Hin

As Buksi said in his post - it's a great day out too, especially if you have kids with you.

There used to be a shop on the road that runs parallel to the railway line (HH city side) near dysfunction junction, that sold coffee tables which incorporated fish tanks.

The guy that ran it, Pongsa Gorn, fitted out those concrete boat houses near Cha Am and also does work for the hi end hotels in the area.

Don't know if the shop is still there tho.

There still is a fair sized aquarium and supply shop by the tracks further down towards Soi 88.

Went to petchaburi today, i found some shops with fishes and also one with nitrites tests. Prices are half of Hua Hin. Choice still limited, next time i will go to ratchaburi and chatuchak.

There's also a new one just about to open (saw them setting up their aquariums), in Soi Bon Kai dead opposite Hua Hin Vittaya School, at the Soi 94 end. Only saw tanks at the stage they were at, so don't know what else they'll supply.

Soi Bon Kai, at least think that's it's name, is the straight on option inbetween the two 7/11's as you go West over the Soi 88 railway crossing, or if you're coming from my mate Andy's road, it's the 2nd right after the cross-roads.
