Lounge Pass

Post by BaaBaa. »

I've just found this website.

https://www.loungepass.com/

I normally fly with Emirates and having the silver card always had access to the Business Lounge, however Emirates changed the frequent flyer points system so I'll be flying with Qatar this time.

Unfortunately I'll have a 9 hour wait going out due to the time of the year/prices etc.

On this website you can book a Lounge Pass for the majority of the Airports, you get a printable pass to hand in at the reception.

So, Doha is £22 for 6 hours, included in the price in most lounges is comfy seats, food, light beverages, alcohol, TV, wifi, internet PCs, showers, Newspapers etc etc.

A bargain IMO.

Thanks for the link BaaBaa

There's several airports I go through on a regular basis where I'll ''buy'' myself into the business class lounges when I've got a long wait. Will be interesting to compare prices with this site.

On numerous occasions I've used the lounge in Hong Kong airport, and as you say - an absolute bargain when you have a long stopover. Internet, couple of beers, shower..... job done.

Exactly, even on a 3 hour wait in Dubai it's nice, a plate of food or a couple of sandwiches plus a few beers and a scan of the laptop, then you're off again.

I've seen conflicting reports about Doha though, some say no alcohol, others say it's not on display but you can ask for it.

I always like a few beers inbetween flights.

Let me know how it compares to just asking at the desk.

BaaBaa

I regularly flew in and out of Doha between June 2008 and April 2009 using Qatar Airways Business Class.

The Business lounge is split between Business Class and First Class!

Being a pleb - I used only the business class.

Alcohol is no problem - plenty of it

Service is good - as it always is on Qatar airways - bloody good airline - at least up until I last flew on it 8)

I've paid for access at quite a few airports mainly to get a shower and change of clothes. I've found that often you pay only slightly more for 6 hours in a lounge than you do just for a shower, so you may as well drink their free beer as well!

Why has this been moved to FOO when it involves traveling to Thailand?

Baa Baa be careful the lounge listed on the website for Doha is their Oryx lounge situated in the main terminal building. This isn't the Business / First class lounge for Qatar Airlines which is as Terry said is really excellent. The two lounges are in different buildings.

The Oryx lounge is the business lounge for all other airlines apart from Qatar Airlines. The seats are hard, there is no booze, paltry food and no showers. It isn't worth the money IMO.

Every recent review I've read contradicts Ricardo regarding food, alcohol, showers, internet etc.

Maybe they've updated the lounge since, I know the Lounge has been updated in the last year or 2.

I've booked it anyway, a printable ticket was emailed within 2 mins.

I'll let you know!
