Where can I buy a French press?

Post by redfarang »

The one they sell at Starbucks costs 2000 baht. I think that's a bit excessive, but I haven't seen it anywhere else in Hua Hin. Any ideas?

Is that what is known as a cafetiere in the UK, a glass coffee pot with a plunger?
If so, they used to have cheap ones in the old shopping mall but that was a long time ago and I haven't looked recently.

Don't know why you are thinking of buying anything from StarFcuks, let along their over priced crappy coffee.

Oh my, that sounds good with the holidays approaching. One either side percolating nasty things in my ear. Remember Jamie Curtis collapsing in 'a fish called wanda' when she heard a Russian accent?....SORRY....back to coffee.  Pete

I bought one at Villa Market for around 400 baht.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I remember it more as collapsing and writhing. Actually, I remember mostly the writhing. Also the excellent chemistry between her and John Cleese in this and their other romantic scenes.

Oh, and if you find a good french press, please let us know where.

Yeah, just googled the name and it's the same thing. I went there and couldn't find one.

Recently? Where are they? I looked where they have kitchen utensils (next to the pet food) and didn't see any.

It was a while ago, and it was with the kitchen utensils, but on the top shelf above where the utensils are hanging. It is a small one that will make one large (American style) mug of coffee or two standard coffee cups. If you don't see them, ask the staff if they have a coffee maker. It could be that they are out of stock at the moment.

Thanks. Found one at Villa Market. I only looked at the kitchen utensils' section last time and it wasn't there, so I figured they didn't have any. Today I walked around and found one near the cash register, where the coffee grinding machine is. 400 baht like you said. The box says the size is "3 cups" but it looks like just one cup to me, unless you drink a tiny amount of coffee.
