I live just outside Cha-am in a beautiful village called Nong Yao.
Quite a few "farrangs" and only 5-10 minutes to the beach or market.
Land here is increasing in price but, I can still buy a decent 1 rai of land for about 600,000 baht.
I wouldn't like to live in a soi in Huahin and pay more than 400,000 baht for a rai!
Just my opinion and I've been here in Huahin/ Cha-am for many, many years.
Come to think of it. I wouldn't want to live up any soi in Huahin or Cha-am!

Yeah, I rented up in that same neighborhood for the first two years here while building my home and I could have bought the house I was renting plus the nearly half rai lot for around 1.5 million then.

No, we lived in one of the smaller places on Pattana 2, I think it was. It was one story, not really up to western standard (especially the kitchen), but it had 3 bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms and by today's prices would have been a steal back then and I could have made it very comfy for another mil. Hindsight is 20-20!

We would have been neighbours then. Prices started to change around the time you moved out

Sounds good SJ, I'll have to take a look up there. I used to complain a lot about Hua Hin but I found when I really thought about it that most of my complaints would be valid anywhere in Thailand (heat, corruption, etc.) and except for the higher pricing in HH and other popular tourist areas, I actually like Hua Hin as much as any place in the country and don't wish to leave the town.
