It seems as though the cities are limited to those marked at the first level of play. They come up randomly, but you'll get to know exactly where they all are eventually.

Have a go at "the next challenge". It's pretty good and includes landmarks, wine growing regions etc etc. Sort of like a bit of general knowledge and geography.
It's kiddie proof and is quite educational.
