Hua Hin Food Festival/Count Down 2010

The town's banner department have been at it again plastering Thai notices everywhere for up coming events. Noticed this one running from December 27 to January 2nd/3rd. It is usually held at 19 Rai where all of the hotels setup stalls to showcase their cuisine, definitely worth a look.

The town's banner department have been at it again plastering Thai notices everywhere for up coming events. Noticed this one running from December 27 to January 2nd/3rd. It is usually held at 19 Rai where all of the hotels setup stalls to showcase their cuisine, definitely worth a look.

I thought I just been...and that it's just finished....

Or was that another similar event, was at 19rai for 10 days or so and think it started with the Royal birthday, had lots of food stalls, small funfair, fairground stalls, live music, can't remember the big hotel chains with their usual fancy food stands but didn't walk around properly.

If anyone didn't make it down it was probably one of the best events we've ever been to, the highlight for me being the free champagne tasting tent next to Santa's Grotto. But despite getting a skateboard from Santa our son reckoned the firework spectacular was the best part of the night. The baby panda show deserves a mention too.

Could be something to do with this "Hua Hin Countdown" that is being advertised everywhere, runs from Dec 27th to 31st.

Yeah that looks like it from a quick look round, at Market Village, the stage and seating has been set up a while.

Seems there's different activities going on including Miss Polynesia contest, world championship ice carving (my monies on a Thailand-Iran final), fashion show, food & drink and on New Years Eve a concert featuring Jazz, Bossanova, Ska, Reggae, Pop, Rock & Hip Hop.

Countdown
