Carrefour is pretty decent here in Chongqing/China, although not a great selection of Western foodstuffs/booze by any means. Metro for me is far better for imported goods, although Carrefour are certainly tops on the fresh food and veg side.
On the Carrefour sale, as far as I understand it, Tesco were kicked out very early - competition, or cr@p price? Also, Carrefour were not selling their Chinese stores......

Did anyone ever discover what it is that is being built along the south side of Soi 88, between Petchkasem and the railway? Some suggestions that might be a new store or mall, but I've seen nothing definitive yet.

For those of you who have a Carrefour in your area, it appears Big C will retain the higher standard of merchandise as compared to traditional Big C stores. Pete
