Visa to India from Thailand

Post by expatsally »

Booked a trip to India from Bkk to New Dehli in Feb. The Indian embassy only excepts visa aps online.
Filled out the necessary requirements, does anyone have any info about wait times after showing up and submitting passports? A day, a week? Was trying to avoid 2 trips to Bkk from Hua Hin. Thanks for any info.....

5 working days is the norm for business & employment visas

I believe that you can get tourist visas the next working day

The VFS service (Glas Haus 15th floor opposite Soi 20 on Sukhamvit) is not the most friendly or helpful of places.

Make sure you fill in your visa application form on line and then print it out. They do not accept handwritten completed forms. If you turn up with one hand completed they will request you to go to their 'tame' internet cafe around the corner. (This place must be making a fortune)

There are much better places to go to......................

Thanks Terry. Already printed out the form, just wondering if we were going to have to wait a long time to get passports back. Sounds like tourist visas are pretty straight forward......

I would still double check with VFS before you go to BKK.

They have a habit of changing the visa application rules - worse than for Thailand and that's saying something.................
