Report from Koh Lanta:

Went to the 7-Eleven around the corner on Christmas Eve to buy a box of Singha for the hotel. Was well after midnight. I got the beers, paid and told them I needed the bill for administration purposes. They informed me that the cash register would not accept beer bar codes, but I could come back the next day and pick up the bill. Also the guy kept saying: "You pay extra 20 Baht". Back at the hotel I asked the staff about the 20 Baht surcharge and they confirmed that they charge everyone 20 Baht for alcohol purchases during the forbidden hours. Call it corruption at the lowest level but it was a good deal for everyone.
We are all living in 'the good old days' of the future.

Bit hard to program anything into a small wooden drawer

Yep, my local one, 1 minute walk away, wouldn't bother with the wrapping or anything on a none alcohol day. It's a calculator and pinny job.

Look on it as a stress relieving break. After a month of it you will be ready for the nutter house
RICHARD OF LOXLEY

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.
