It's 8.30am to, I think, 3.30pm.
Not open weekends or Public Holidays

Is it normally open on Chinese New Year day? Thursday 3rd February this year I think.

I'm not sure about that. Chinese New Year isn't an official National Holiday, but I wouldn't want to guarantee the Imm will be open.
Why are you visiting them? If for an extension to a visa, there's no harm in going early as you won't lose any time off your stay here. Extension time begins when your permitted to stay stamp expires, not from the date of application and issue.

I made never 24 hour reporting. But I would be very interested to know:

1. What was your reason to do it?

2. Do you get any confirmation stamped into your passport?

I need to go for 90 day address reporting. My due date is 6th February (Sunday) and I'm just back from a week's holiday so couldn't go earlier. So it's either today or tomorrow. Didn't really want to go late just in case.

I'll post an update for future reference when I have one.

The 90 reporting is due from 7 days before, OR, up to 7 days after, the date shown on the last report stapled into the back of your Passport.
Do not confuse the issue by telling them that you have just come back from being away for a week.

Thanks, but the reason I want to go before the due date is that (I'm sure) I've read posts on here about people going after the due date (and within 7 days after) and still getting grief for it. Unless I'm getting confused with stuff I've read on other forums about other provinces, but thought there was conflicting evidence of how immigration applied this 7 day rule in practice. Didn't want to chance it. I reckon it'll be open tomorrow anyway (if not today), otherwise I've no choice but to go late regardless.

I guess Noz could always do a 24 hour notice and 90 day report at the same time !

Ssssshhhhhhhhhhh.

Have to say the 24 hour thing never crossed my mind. I'm either blissfully ignorant of the rule or chose to ignore it. Not sure which but either way I won't be mentioning my trip away.

If you report late I'd like to know the outcome as my report date is in two weeks and I'd rather report after the due date if the immigration people expect tea money from 'late' reporters.

I've reported late numerous times - but within 7 days - and never had a problem.

Last time the immigration officer explicitly told me, that I can go 7 days before and up to 7 days after the due date.
