I'd go for Chang every time - the rest just don't seem to have that zing. Ran out of Chang the other day and couldn't be bothered to trundle down to the shop so I rooted around in the bothe and found a couple of bottles of Leo reserved for the landlord. It was drinkable, and certainly better than Singha, but the tingle on the tongue wasn't there.

The only thing I'd say about Chang is that it's really 'temperature sensitive'. Too cold or too warm and the flavour changes completely.

I go for chang every time and certainly enjoy a bottle or three most days, but sometimes my counting is not very good :naughty:

One of the many things I like about chang beer is the lack of a hangover the next day  Back in the UK I used to suffer from bad hangovers from most beers, or any alcoholic drinks, whereas with chang, I sometimes feel a bit washed out but no headache, no vomitting etc :D

One of my Thai friends who drinks quite a bit of chang with me, recently stopped drinking chang for a few days after his son-in-law (a doctor) told him it was the cause of the rash that had appeared on my friends arms and legs!

Please tell me this was just a ploy by the doctor to get my friend to moderate his drinking, as now, after a few weeks of drinking quite a lot of chang with my son who's on holiday, I've also developed a similar rash on my arms and legs

Anyone else ever encounter something similar?

Aaahh, the skin transformation has begun. Next you will notice slow growth of the ears and the ability to move them in unison and independently. After that you may notice a small growth at the base of the spine with a tuft of hair at the end. No one in our control group has yet to display significant changes to the proboscis except for the deterioration of the cartlilage forming the bridge, giving the nose the ability to sway side to side unrestricted. Please maintain your prescribed beer intake and appointment schedule to allow further observation. :P Pete

I like Chang and Singha, no problem as long there is no ice in my glass.

I agree, apart from the "even Tiger" bit, Tiger's probably better than all of them, although a bit more expensive and not usually available at the local Mom and Pop shop.

Chang 'Draft' is Carlsberg Export..nifty move done while Carlsberg was pulling out of the brewery..poach the
recipe and re-name it. (So a Carlsberg 'white-collar' employee told me).
Leo certainly made a good move when they (finally) started selling small bottles..sells well.
Tiger seems to have gained popularity again recently also..sales-wise it tailed-off in a big way, but at
Xmas + N.Yr it was coming on strong again with tourists.
Talking of days gone by..I remember Amstell being in the fridge with the others.

I've seen Tiger in most of the 7Elevens. But yes Chang needs ice IMO. Much prefer Leo, but that often isn't available in hotels/restaurants so I tend to play safe with Heine - or Singha at a push!
Lets face it non of them hold a candle to Guinness...
