Storage in HH

Post by Siani »

Does anyone know if there are secure storage depots in HH please? I may have to store things for a short while.

I'm afraid that's a gap in the HH market Siani. Several discussions on this over the years but as far as I know still nothing. The logistics of a business like that are tricky - insurance issues - costs (property rents increasing) and I suppose the often 'fickle' nature of farang run businesses.
Thais just don't seem to have a need for the service either.
It might be easier, and safer, to rent a small condo or similar for a while.

It is probably best to ask your shipper to keep your belongings in the UK until you are ready to accept them here.

I think those self storage lockers that are all over the U.S. would be a viable business opportunity here.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

There are some in Bangkok, but may not be much use to you. As mentioned, your shipper should be able to take care of it, and for sure, the Company in Thailand I mentioned before, have a huge transit storage facility in Bangkok. They will charge for it, but it will probably be much less than in the UK.

Hi hope this little words of caution will help, if you ask a freight forwarder to store you furniture and personal affects make sure if it's in a container that is ply lined or wood lined as condensation will ruin furniture with mold very quickly.
Kendo.

Good luck with your move.
