I started this as a result of reading Riders ideas about saving electricity on another thread and the man is to be commended IMO
In this day and age of scrapping, buying new and not recycling, I wonder how many of us give it a second thought?
My family used to say ‘waste not want not’ So what are we all doing to save our planet?
Things I have observed are very innovative and although they tend to be thought up by those on the bread line they do strike a chord with me in this wasteful world of ours. Here’s just a few for your perusal. Obviously many are from my experiences in living for some time in Isaan.
CD discs used as reflectors
Cut down cola bottles used as flower pots
Oil drums used as barbecues
Flattened cardboard boxes used as mats on rough concrete
Old bike parts used to build buggies for the kids
Warm showers in this country taken in the open with a vat of warm water and a bucket
I've temporarily run dry and I must say a lot of my thinking is based on just how resourceful village life can be. Sandles out of banana leaves, fishing rods from bamboo etc
Any other contributions before I wax lyrical again?

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Don't forget the below thread which unbelievably few people had little interest in when started. The above topic fits there and will get more reader exposure than in Foo. Pete

Can't give that one to issan I'm afraid. The homeless have used that little gem for decades. Fortunately I ain't homeless so don't need to sit on cardboard boxes.Flattened cardboard boxes used as mats on rough concrete
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

"CD discs used as reflectors"
Particularly comical, when tied to an efalumps tail in downtown BKK.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

You must of seen this sort of thing is Issan Richard, although they're normally not as fancy as this one:
