I just found their web site which must be new as not discovered before. Phone numbers at the bottom of home page. Pete

Not so good service.

Today I had an appointment at the hospital at 14:00.
I arrived at the hospital at 13:30 and carried out registration and I was given hospital number
Then I had my weight, blood pressure and temperature checked and then I was instructed to wait.
People were coming after me and being seen by I assume a doctor of some sort, but there was no indication that I was going to be seen any time soon.
I waited until 15:15 and there was absolutely no sign of any service and I left.

Just a thought - but did you not think of going back to reception or asking a member of staff there if they could check why you were kept waiting so long?

I have just received a very nice email from the doctor apologising for the inconvenience and he offered to come to my home to see me.
I have declined the offer, as I already rescheduled my 3 monthly check-up at Bumrungrad.
I have been attending Bumrungrad for 4 years on a 3 monthly basis, however I had hoped to avoid the trips to Bangkok by using Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin instead, but until such time as the hospital is fully functional then I feel that my only option is to continue with Bumrungrad.

Teething problems I guess

I have used the Bumrungrad nie on 7 years. Twice for life threatening illness (DVT) and their facilities are excellent but their pricing and check up service is crap.

Their pricing is aimed at the rich Arab visitors and their check up appointments are crap as if you have a rich Arab and his has been virgin entourage arrives , they get priority. I have waited to see my Doctor there for at least 2 hours after my appointment time.

I now use the Polyclinic for my monthly checks with a personal doctor who knows my history and at some stage, because it's next door to where I live I may move to the BH providing I can get a regular doctor

You are probably right about the teething problems Richard.
Bumrungrad is expensive, but my company recommends it and they pick up the tab, but I would prefer not having to make the 3 hour journey, commencing at 05:00 in the morning.
That is why I had hope to make use of the new hospital here in Hua Hin
I have on occasions had to wait 30/40 minutes Bumrungrad, but they always keep you updated as to when the doctor will be free and that was one thing what was sorely lacking today.
They are okay with Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin also, so I am hopeful that I will be able to start using them sometime later on in the year.

Fair enough, I can understand you not being pleased with the standard "moment please" response, roughly corresponding to "I haven't a clue what's happening, either..."

though taking into account

"....I have just received a very nice email from the doctor apologising for the inconvenience and he offered to come to my home to see me.
I have declined the offer ..."

which is the best gesture of apology or rectifying a situation I've come across yet in my 10+ years in Thailand, it might just be worth giving them another try soon and ask for that very doctor - sounds like they won't mess up twice in your situation.

I was also pleasantly surprised with the doctors response, but I had already made my mind up to continue with Bumrungrad and rescheduled my appointment.

As I said previously I will be looking to use them in the future, but right now in my humble opinion they are not functioning at a acceptable level

All of us connected with hospital are very upset about what happened to Dozer today, I think that his reaction was quite appropriate.
We have apologised and would like to ensure that any further visits to the hospital are handled in a more professional manner.
I hope that he would agree that just as importantly we examine what happened to him today and take steps to ensure that this does not happen to other patients in the future.

As a CPA, and business owner, I often have 10 - 15 appointments in one day.
If each of the first six appts run five minutes late, then all other appts are also late, so I understand when a Doctor can't see me on time. At least most my appointments aren't emergencies (well the client may think so).

But when I do run late I| have my secretary tell the clients, and if they can't wait they get a priority for rescheduling. If I run late enough she even tries to call them at home.

I have waited hours at doctors offices without any sort of notice, and at times when I do ask I get a very curt answer that the doctor is running late, be patient.

Now I call before I go to see how behind schedule they are

I am not talking about the Hua Hin Hospital.

Well, as an observation, the service received at the new hospital in HH takes the piss out of the other BBk hospitals elsewhere.

Perhaps Dr Mike, you could send a memo to others of the chain to treat people so well, very commendable, as commenting on a local forum where I am would have sweet FA influence. Perhaps having an interactive medium with the potential customer base in an area, wherever it is, would be a benefitial step forward for all BBK hospitals all over Thailand, great idea, just needs someone to interact with everyone online.

Dozer, good for you that your complaint is being dealt with with so much care and attention. However, you are being spoilt compared to the rest of the real world elsewhere in LOS, but good for them (BBK hospital in HH) that they are trying to address the imbalance and initiate a "new approach" so to speak compared with many others. 8)

Every BBK Hospital should have an Interactive Doc like Dr.Mike. :thumb:

Could I make a request please.

If you have a medical question, I often have to refer the letter to the correct Dr--To do this from HHAD takes a copy and paste. Also I have to reply to you on HHAD in order to find your identity, if an appointment is needed. So I would prefer if you contacted me directly Moreton@bgh.co.th --- of course if you prefer an anonomous chat on HHAD--that is fine too.
I am going on a grandad tour on Thursday and will be back on the 9th, but will check HHAD

I felt I needed to go the the ER today so I went to Bangkok Hospital. I was seen immediately with the correct level of concern. The young ER Dr. Dissawan was excellent in his attitude and care. He communicated well and asked all the right questions and answered all my questions satisfactorily. Service in general from all the ER staff was excellent. They did exactly what I expected them to do with the condition I had and the cost was actually less than I expected.

A very good hospital experience. :thumb:
