PATIO DOOR SHUTTERS

Post by Brit Jim »

Hi

Trying to source some Patio door shutters as per attached images. The ones shown are for the windows but give you the general idea. The shutters slide neatly back into their housing posts unlike standard patio & door security frame guards.

I have found a company in BKK but just wandered if anyone locally??

Thanks

I was looking into something very similar a while back and did find a place in/near to Bangkok. I'll see if I can dig out the details.

The reason we didn't go ahead with them, was that we felt them to be a little expensive and at the end of the day if someone wants to get into the place - they will. We decided on an alarm system to make a bit of a racket and draw attention to the fact that some b@st@rd was in the house........ not that this will make a blind bit of difference with our ''security'' guards, but might just wake the neighbours!!

The quote I've already had from the BKK company was ridicously high hence still looking. I'm not a fan of the standard security door frames out here and I don't think this is an option for us given the position and length of the doors่.

Already have an alarm thanks to SJ. One of the neighbours has fixed security bars outside on the front of their patio doors with a verticle and horizontal pattern. It actually looked quite nice BUT obviosly they can no longer use their patio doors anymore. Further, easy to cut through. Inside would have been a better option.

Will carry on hunting!

cheers

Here is a previous thread. This could be the expensive company in Bangkok you're already referring to. Pete

They're expensive as I think you'll find they're the only game in town, or in the country using enamel coated aluminum and that quality design. Kind of like dealing with True Visions, not much other choice. I had some left over pieces and a friend took them to Chonburi and tried a dozen places to try to get them reproduced, he couldn't find anyone who could. For all I know the Bangkok company could import them already made and simply cut them to size. That would explain the pricing. Pete
