Re: League One
Not enough, but £180K than that snake-in-the-grass Holloway was offering. More importantly, it's enough to settle the tax bill.lindosfan1 wrote:I just hope Plymouth got a good price for his skills
I wish - unfortunately we've learnt that's not a good move.redzonerocker wrote:undisclosed fee![]()
always baffles me that one. . . . maybe a bit of tax dodging

Incidentally, the fee was around £200K.

WTF

We've got no money, haven't been able to field a full team this year, and now we're loaning players to Premiership scum like Holloway.

Doomed!!!
I honestly can't see any alternative to administration, followed soon after by liquidation

Sad news that BB, hopefully something will come up before liquidation.
Re: League One
Peter Ridsdale reckons he has 3 potential investors. I think the 4th division is a foregone conclusion - the decent players have been sold.
They way things are going I'd actually like administration to see Japs lose every penny.

Southampton and others have gone into admin and come back from it, hopefully you'll comeback stronger.

Re: League One
Yes, but some sort of investigation needs to take place.
A couple of seasons ago they were in the black, and boasting how bright the future looked. Then they sold the team - most of them for 7 figure sums each. Very little of that income was spent on new players (about 15%).
Now:
- They can't pay the backroom staff. (Peter Reid paid the gas bill during the cold spell just to make life a little sweeter for the office staff). Supporters have been doing collections for them on match days.
- They can't pay the players. The players union are making loans.
- They can't afford travel to away games. Supporters are paying the player's bus fares to Hartlepool next month.
- They owned Home Park - sold at a knock down price by the council 3 years ago. It now seems it's been heavily mortgaged. Certainly not the asset we all believed was there.
I could go on but it makes me sick. Where has all of that money gone?

That sounds very familiar if you change it to 8 figures and nothing spent on players (about -25%)Big Boy wrote:Yes, but some sort of investigation needs to take place.

Fortunately we came out of it very well, debt free.
I didn't even know Reid was managing you, quite like him, certainly knows the game.

He's playing a blinder in the circumstances - I hope he doesn't get blamed for the relegation.BaaBaa. wrote:I didn't even know Reid was managing you, quite like him, certainly knows the game.

10 points to be deducted, definately doomed now BB
Re: League One
Yeah, just heard about that.Arcadian wrote:10 points to be deducted, definately doomed now BB
Plymouth Argyle have been deducted 10 points with immediate effect after they issued a notice of intention to appoint an administrator.
BBC
Re: League One
With the players they've got left after the fire sale, and no ability to bring in players on loan, they were doomed anyway.
If they were destined for administration anyway, it makes you wonder why they gave away their decent players at a knock down price. If they'd held on to the decent players they could have taken the 10 point hit and still survived
What's just as bad is issuing the notice of intent to go into administration. The word from the club is they don't actually think they'll go into administration. So why issue the notice, and lose 10 points?
