Planning to visit HH and would like to know the best way of traveling from Bkk.
A bus is not my most favorite way of traveling but all means of transportation are open for discussion and decision making.
Also I have looked at an a website called "Blue Lagoon" Apartments. Anyone know about this place and would like to comment. Also if you know of any really nice Apartment for long stay I would like to know it so I might go to look at it when I am here.
Thanks

Re: Means of Transportation
What's your budget?
Starting from where in Bangkok?
What time of day or night?
How much luggage will you have?
Traveling alone?

Re: Means of Transportation
Thanks for your reply Homer... Answers to your questions:
Budget:
I am willing to spend no more than 4,600bhat
Starting from the Grand President Hotel Soi 11 & Suhkumvit
Begin the trip say around 11AM- 1PM
Luggage would consist of 1 med size suitcase and a shoulder carry-on
I will not be traveling alone....Traveling with a young lady (I mean lady) age 33

Re: Means of Transportation
I use a very reliable taxi firm to and from the airport 3 or 4 times a year to HH which is 1,800 Baht one way, also used by others on my recommendation. Not sure of price from BKk town but should be reasonable if not the same.
HH to Pattaya 2,500 which friends have used also.
If in BKK call or sms Pu on 0859690194. If you want email address I can get you on Saturday as it is on my work PC.

That alone says take a taxi. I can't help you there as I'm a Cheap Charlie. Haven't used a taxi between Hua Hin and Bangkok since my last flight almost a year ago, but I'm reconsidering that after the last minivan ride.hawk3164 wrote: I am willing to spend no more than 4,600bhat

The above posters are right, just sit your ass down in a taxi and say "Hua Hin", 2500 baht later, you'll be where you want to be.

Re: Means of Transportation
I know that 2,500 bt is the set rate for some of the Bangkok meter taxi companies. (They have a set price list for longer journeys.)
You can get a private hire taxi for between 1,500 and 2,000 bt.

I pay 2k, I know them well and they've never let me down. (Can get cheaper but don't care about changing for £5)
No point in dicking about when you've just spent £600+ on a flight and got 20 odd hours of travelling behind you.
I'm sat on the front of my house with a crate of beer 3 hours after leaving the Airport, all good!
