With regard to the flooding in Soi 102, be aware that the flooding only happens in the low lying area just beyond the railway tracks. It is a very long Soi and the properties at the top end have not flooded in the 6 years that our house has been built, whereas the lower end of the Soi seems to flood every year. There is another route onto Petchkasem Road via a link to Soi 112 in the event that the bottom of 102 floods and prevents access to Petchkasem.

^ There is also a back way from the top of 102 west of Hua Hin that connects with Soi 94. Parts of that can get rough during the rainy season too though as some of the roads are in poor condition. I've actually gone from my home near Soi 116 all the way through and out the north end of town without using Phetkasem road or the bypass, but it requires a lot of winding around on rural roads and crossing the mountain near Hin Lek fai.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
