Nereus wrote:When I first came to Thailand over 20 years ago, a relative of my Thai wife had one. It was the most vicious, mongrel animal I have run across in a long time. The owner was the only one that it would allow near it, bite everybody else it could reach. It may have been a Katoeybecause the owner was definitely of that persuasion.
George was so people-friendly - the only thing he didn't like was being grabbed as he obviously didn't know who it was or where it came from.
Handled gently and being allowed to move freely, he was the most playful character and would climb all over our friends and customers here at the marina, much to their delight.
There must now be literally hundreds of souvenir photos of George around the world.
He gave so much joy to a lot of people and gave us the opportunity to inform the public about the plight of the slow loris in the wild, i.e. deforestation, poachers, having their eyes chopped up for use in so-called Chinese medicines, etc.
Thank you very much for your condolences.
