hi all as ive said in my previous posts i thought HH was fantasticand we loved every minute.I did have one bad experience though that id like to share as a warning to others....
after 10 days of everybody being so good to us( even when we were the only farang at the thai venues with local girls) we relaxed too much. The transfer driver from a local company who serves all the hotels(i have his cell no if anybody wants it) arrived to return us to the airport. He was the same man who picked us up and we got a bad feeling then .
Anyway we stopped at a gas station for "rest" and he said "go to toilet bag ok"
So i left my rucksack with £ 510 sterling in the car(i know!).When i was in the toilet i by chance looked out the door and saw him waving to somebody, still it didnt click.

Robbed by taxi driver
Re: warning!!
It was not until i get to heathrow that i realise i now have £310 sterling left!
(He tried the same leave ok tactics on the way to HH but then i was more wary). He then stops 1 km up the road for gas.He is obviously robbing tourists with a partner and is employed by a driving company that serves all the hotels.
Please be careful!!!!
ive contacted my hotel 2 days ago and they said they have forwarded my email to the driving company. Not heard anything since..
A real shame as all the people we met, thai and other, we now consider great friends.

Re: warning!!
Never leave anything in the car that have a high value. This could happen anywhere in the world.
Re: Robbed by taxi driver
Keep your stuff on you man, make up a 'go' back like a large man-bag, fanny-pack, EDC kit etc.
That way, when you go somewhere, that goes with you!
Sorry to hear this mate, it's always the one rotten apple that spoils the barrell...

Re: Robbed by taxi driver
I always make a point of obviously taking my shoulder bag with me when in long run taxis or similar, and that is anywhere in the world, not just Thailand. BTW fanny pack has a very different meaning in glasgow, and the phrase always makes me smile.
Fat drunk and stupid is no way to go through life.......says who?
