I left it a bit late to buy tickets and there was not much choice left, for the English show at least.
Thanks for that offer. :thumb: They're going to go in the morning and return home right after the show. The little one has a fever and bad cold though which puts all in jeopardy if not fit by Friday. :( Yes, the good seats were gone for the English show about 48 hours after they opened sales. They should do two English shows on either end of the schedule, not just the opening day. Pete

Went to this yesterday. A good show, I thought, some incredible props, costumes and effects. One small annoying thing was the excessive use of the moving spotlights. Some of the show had the characters high up on a slow moving trapeze, and the beam of the spotlights were continually shining into the audience. Also, a lot of light was being reflected from the ice, which has not been a problem in the past. I think it was due to excessive water on the surface, so maybe the cooling plant was not working correctly.

The usual bunch of ignorant pricks that could not organise themselves to be seated by the starting time. Some of them were arriving up to 30 minutes after the starting time, and not all of them Thais, either! The closing theme was brilliant, but left hanging at the very end as the commentary stopped, and it was not clear if the show had finished or not.

Despite having a problem buying tickets several weeks ago, there were hundreds of vacant seats. Admittedly, most of them were the blocks high up, but when I bought our tickets most of those seats were being shown as sold out. Just another Thai way of ensuring the more expensive seats are sold out first, I guess.

The by now to be expected rip off merchants outside the show. But why, oh f---ing why, do Thais have to have ear splitting PA systems? One stand with some screeching female blasting out her ridiculous spiel with a sound system that the Rolling Stones would have been proud of. I already have damaged hearing from years of exposure to industrial noise, and the sound level was unbearable to me, so what is it doing to the kids?

Some more Thai “logic” with having this show running at the same time as the International Motor Show. We arrived early in the morning and found a convenient parking place, but when we left around 3-00 pm there was a tailback of around 5 km on the expressway back towards the city, of cars trying to get into the place. They have built at least one new parking building recently, but there is still nowhere near enough space. As for actually getting into the motor show, it was near on impossible.

The wife said there was a Home Pro show going also. They got stuck in traffic coming and a planned arrival time of 1030 turned into getting seated as the show was beginning. Fought their way into the Motor Show afterward actually to become ill and dizzy because of all the people packed in there. Appears a good idea not to try to go to that thing on a weekend. Leaving around 1500 for home she saw dozens of Thais running and complaining they had been stuck in traffic so long getting there, they were just now arriving for the Disney 1400 hours show which was almost over. Like you, they were stuck for about 45 minutes trying to work their way back to the motorway to come home. I'm kind of glad I couldn't make it this year. Pete

We got out ok, only about 10 minutes from the car park to the expressway. The tailback was cars trying to get into the place after 3-00 pm. Yes, there was a HomePro show on, but I doubt that was the cause. The Motor Show was the main attraction, as many working people can only get there on the weekend--probably even more today.

As for the late comers: I remarked about it to a Farang guy that sat down next to me about 10 minutes before the starting time, and he said that there were big crowds milling around outside the theatre.

At the prices being charged, they were probably the only ones that could afford it!

Her Mom's a tough cookie, she wouldn't pay for that stuff. Got a bowl of noodles after the show from what I understand. Now, if organized baseball ever comes to Thailand, I'll buy her all the hot dogs and soda she can handle, along with a season ticket. :D Pete
