The wandering thread...

Post by Randy Cornhole »

Having been guilty of hijacking the odd thread to meander down a path of pure shite. I have hereby created the 'Wandering thread' where hopefully (mod willing) we will all be able to meander pant free down the road of bollox eventually crossing the T junction of poo and end up standing together nonplussed in the cul-de-sac of genitalia. Hurrah!

Anywho is Pompey a good team?
Is formula 1 worth the tarmac its written on?
Rugby Union is the best sport in the world... No?
Why Ladyboys and why some don't?
All police smell?

Here we go! and here we end?

Had some great tacos for dinner. I always went with beer with my tacos, but scotch works well too

Whose Pompey??

I have to disagree... the most annoying noise I've ever heard at a sporting event is the singing and or buzzing noise made by soccer fans. Some games are a constant... Aaaaway, away away away; Aaaaway, Aaaaway...; other games, maybe depending on the country, the fans seem to make a buzzing noise like a million bees constantly throughout the entire game.

Even if I wanted to learn to like the sport this would keep me from watching it! :duck: :duck: :duck: :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I hate football called footy or soccer, and I hate rugby being called rugger.

Formula 1 is the most over-rated, boring “sport”, it’s like watching paint dry!!!

and what about basketball, of all the American sports that is the one I just don't get!!!

You mean netball and rounders? Any one for jolly hockey sticks or a game of fives?

I'll agree that soccer makes an annoying noise as well but I often have a news channel on in the background and everytime they mention Formula One, I make a grab for the volume control before the room is filled with a noise like someone has just started a chainsaw in the room.
News items about soccer usually just consist of a man in front of a ground rambling inane statements about how some team should have won but didn't.

Both F1 and cricket are very complicated sports. So many influential factors

Cricket - Ground, deterioration of the pitch, weather, tactics, rules of the game (test or 1 day), bowler and batsmen tactics and hype to name but a few

F1 - Weather, pit stop strategy, tyre status, new Ecclestone rules and application of new technology (KERS etc)

Years ago you did not get info on all these variables as a spectator/viewer but now you do and see the complexities of the game

Drivers and cricket players are mere pawns. The name of the game is the backroom coaches and technicians

When I played cricket as a left arm spin bowler I was trained to spin into the wicket not to to spin for a slip catch

If you research what happens behind the scenes you can then appreciate the game more fully

Squash, tennis, rowing all follow the same theme as I'm sure all sports do
