Sadly there is no or very little justice for Farangs in Thailand.

I do not think that is why most of us moved here. The desire for justice.
Sad commentary but true.

Walk softly and if needed walked the other way.

Justice is a Farang concept at best here.

And what if he had died from that head kicking in, would that have been fair justice for being the tough guy biker and lout he maybe was?

'Cowardly' according to the cultural norms of your homeland. Mine too. But that's not the culture in which the incident took place. My limited understanding of Thai culture is there are offenses for which the proper and expected response is a beat down. No need to warn the guy that he's about to get thumped, no need to provide an opportunity to apologize, no need to puff up one's chests and make threats while the bystanders pull the potential fighters apart. None of that is necessary because the offender should known he had it coming and that the offended party was going to deliver it.

Well hopefully he was wearing his crash helmet  but IMO he would think carefully about trying it again and maybe some of his fellow yobs (if not too thick) will realise justice here is quite often metered out by the people offended. MIB only get interested if money is in the air

BB. I reckon if his chopper is seriously mangled it should be transported out into the gulf and dropped into a suitable location such that coral and wildlife would reap the benefits in years to come

No, richard, he'd be dead. And you'd be sending your deepest and most heartfelt condolences.

But surely, that is the point. If we believe Usual Suspect's post (and there's no reason why we shouldn't), the same guy did exactly the same thing outside of O'Neills last night. :?

I would have thought, having suffered the above injuries, that it would be doubtful whether either he or his bike were capable of carrying on in the same way outside O'Neills the following night!

What is the issue with parking a bike there in any case?

I don't doubt US has reportedly faithfully what he heard, but something doesn't add up. :?

Might have been one of his yob mates. These guys wear similar gear

Yes, well said actually Homer, can't argue with any of that. Even if I accidentally annoy someone and apologize, I'm still looking over my shoulder. Be interested (well ok, not really :D ) to know how much time the biker has spent over here. First few trips we're all still learning the ropes of the culture. But if you pull these stunts with any bar/market traders anywhere in the world, you're guaranteed to get a shoeing for your troubles.

Likewise, one of the good guys in town, that you'll never hear a bad word about, unless you speak to his missus :naughty: But at the start of the vid you can see a few people trying to manhandle bikes out the way to enable the (vendor's!?) cart to get out. So looks like he's still sitting there causing a bit of an obstruction.

One thing I've noticed over here is that the 'unsavoury' characters that you meet from time to time, aren't. They can be as nice as the next bloke most of the time, even with a drink, even with a bit of banter. Whereas back home these types get a drink inside them and they're a nightmare. What I'm saying is I haven't come accross any Thai bloke around the nightlife that likes to get stuck into a farang just for the fun of it. Pattaya, but not here.

That sounds more like it.

So to summarize: Mr Farang acts the tough guy, gets abusive, gets a beating and starts crying about it.

The Thai bloke gave him what I would call a "sly dig" quite a cowardly action in my opinion but the girls really let him have it how stupid does he look getting a tanking from some petite women, it should really remind us all that show respect at all times.
I really think the Bintabaht should be made a walking street at night I had some young lad nearly run into my then pregnant mrs in January, it would stop people like this trying to park there penis extensions as close to the bar as possible.

Kendo

The walking street thing has been talked about now for at least 10 years.

Ideally convert to like the night market. Trickle of the odd vendors bikes and that's all from 5pm til midnight with barriers and guards at each end. Too sensible I fear :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Hi Richard mate, common sense and Thailand don't really belong in the same ball park so this arrogant biker tourist or expat should know better.
My mrs has been on the phone all day one of her brothers got hit up the arse on his moped by a very drunk school teacher driving a car he was left for dead and the car did not stop, however someone phoned the police and they caught the driver 3 km's away triying to drive the car with a flat wheel.
He blowed 160 that's for times over the U.K limit we are so angry at this selfish poor excuse of a man.
