Carnival or Fair at Hua Hin Centennial Park

So what is going on around here and where does it happen? This section is for discussion on local events, festivals, and holidays as well as activities and things to do.

If it was my set up, I would've made the rides much cheaper, packed the Locals/Thai's in and make a small fortune on volume, rather then charging high on the few.

I would imagine the cost of the operation was high, but feel their pricing was completely wrong for Thailand.

It's a shame really, nice to have these events come to town, something different for the kids here, but at those prices.....back to the beach :sun:

I saw the bundy and G-Force ride in action, and it frightened the life out of me just watching

Well, if it isn't being run by a Thai company, that explains the high prices. I can only but imagine how much the said company has to pay in order to operate here, and that doesn't include additional tea money to get permits and etc. in place.

As far as marketing for Thais only - a true businessman could care less who he gets his money from. So, if you ask me, the "Thai only" posters are simply down to poor business skills. Let's face it, you don't see the "real" businesses in Thailand ignoring the Farang population - mobile phone industry is just one example. If you run a business, you're in it for the money, and who hands over that money is of very little importance.

Lastly, for those who feel the average Hua-Hin Thai doesn't want us here - I have heard many local Thais also complain about the crowds (Thai) coming
from Bangkok over the weekends. Hell, I see Thais getting strange looks in Borfai simply because they are not from Borfai. I support a little local shop that is owned by Thais from down south, and it's clear to see that they are not really accepted here by the true locals. All the local shop owners buy goods from each other, and yet none of them support this one particular shop. I also think that most Farang alienate themselves here by never really integrating. One example is when you see Farang drive 1.5km's to a 7/11, rather than buy from the nearest mom and pop shop, and these are all thing which the Thais take note of.

What an interesting country to live in - I just love seeing people get all nervous flustered because they don't have the all-powerful nanny state environment to take care of them. :duck:

Whats next a campaign to get subtitles added to the Thai soaps

Now, that would definitely be a sure sign they don't want us here. Surely I have done anything bad enough to deserve such a punishment.......lol

Not been in either, but didn't seem particularly big from the roadside.

does anyone know when the carnival ends ? the posters dont seem to mention that. My daughter likes the place, so would like to plan another visit just before it ends.
