experience with a huahin property company

Post by Morten »

Hi all.

We are going to hua hin in august (my wife that is thai, daughter 1½ years old and myself.)

We have choosen not to live in a hotel og guest house, its simply to small for us.

So we want to rent a house - we have tried to book alot of houses but either they have been booked already or the owner dont want to have short term leases (22 days)

Now we have found a nice house at [Mod Edit - property links are not permitted on this forum] the house is perfect in distance from the center, and generally
meet our demands and budget - but [Mod Edit - company reference removed] want to have the full rent + 10.000 baht in deposit = 35.000 baht, we are offcause a little worried to get scammed and loose our money, on the other hand I can understand that the want to secure the payment - they only accept wired transfer - no VISA or mastercard.

So - is it normal procedure in thailand to pay the full rent + security deposit in advance or?

Does anyone know the shop and can vouch for them?

Thanks for your reply,

best regards

Morten.

Would you let someone use your property for 1 month without the money up front?

Morten, I always pay the rental + deposit up front. Never had a problem getting my deposit back, minus electicity and water costs.

My rentals are usually short term ie 1 month at a time.

@PJG no offcause not, but I just thought the normal procedure was 10.000 in deposit and then pay the rest when you get the keys - that would give me a little security for my money

@big boy - have you rented at [Mod Edit - company reference removed]? or where have you rented houses?

@mod that have edited my post, so its not legal to ask about if a specifik rental company is trustworthy.

You know the best way to avoid getting scammed is to ask other people if the have any personally experience with a specifik company.

Now my post is a bit useless as I ask for experience with a specifik company that I cannot write ... great.

Yes strange that you cannot ask if anyone has had good or bad experience with homepro on the other hand there could be lots of liars out there and you get the wrong impression. It's a difficult one!

The forum's Terms & Conditions, which every member has signed up to are quite specific regarding:

- Use of property websites, and links. Actually including .com in the thread title did not help.

- How to question Mod actions.

As the OP has stated that, "my post is a bit useless," it makes sense to lock this thread.

"Morten" - if you can provide legally binding backup and are willing to use your own name then this forum will be happy to publish your personal problems with the specific company.

Until then you'll have to abide by the T&Cs.
