Translation Service - Thai to English

We use a woman at Hua Hin Translation Centre & Travel, 87/11 Petkasem Road, going into town just past San Paulo on the other side of the road, Makes a good job but always busy.

There are quite a few, one that I have used is the Thai - English Centre on Soi Selawat. Miss Kitty advertises in the Observer, and I've found her to be reasonably priced, accurate and timely.

Maybe things have changed since the last time I tried to get some translation done in Hua Hin (about 2 years ago) but at that time I was shocked at the price, which was almost double what I could have had it done for in BKK. It wasn't urgent so I had it done later in BKK.

That was still the case with the cost, so I did the same - waited till I got back to Bkk.

I have tried many times to set up a business such as this in Hua Hin and have even identified people with the correct skills (which are a small monority by the way).

As soon as the w word gets mentioned the converstaion ends. I am currently trying to learn to read and write in Thai and have reached the level of a normal two year old.

BG may have some ideas when he reads this.

I've done some translation jobs from Thai to English (and to Finnish as well.) How much do they charge in BKK? I've done English to Finnish and Finnish to English translations for one translation company but I'm not sure how much they charge their customers for it.

1800 baht for next day translation of:

Particulars of house - 2 pages.
Registration of divorce - 3 pages
Birth certificate - 1 page
Wedding certificate - 1 page.

A lot of the above is quite detailed and is copied in exactly the same format as on the various forms.

Got it done at express translation service near the UK embassy, by the BTS.

So it was about 260 Baht/page. Wow, that is cheap.
