Hey all.
I'm starting to do some serious walking, and was wondering of others might be interested.
By serious walking I'm talking 7-10 Km a day, at a rate of +-11 minutes per Km on average.
I'm doing this 3-4 mornings a week currently. I would like to improve my speed and/or distance marginally, but not too drastically (A long term goal would probably be 10-12 Km a day at 10 minute average. I'm currently going from about 06:45 until about 08:15--but can be flexible--but walks are easier early in the morning before the heat and humidity build up too much.
My main goal in this is weight loss (And cardio development)
Anybody think this sounds like fun? Anybody think it sounds like a pain in the a**e but feels like they might want to (Or need to) give it a try anyway?
These things are always easier with others......
PM me or reply here if interested.

Hey Jamie,
Saw your post, and hopefully we can walk together some time..... The main differences I see are that I'm really going for pure cardio workout (Time and distance) whereas, for me at least, Hiking is more about getting some exercise while enjoying and exploring nature.
I'd love to do a hike with you sometime too--but the issue for me is that weekends, etc. I have a 3 year old with me--and he's not quite up for doing a 10k!
BTW---as a general note and not to jamiep in particular, if the pace and distance I've talked about seem scary, I'll throw this out: I weigh in at over 300lbs/135Kg/21.5stone.....and I've done it 7 times over the past 2 weeks.
