Anyone know of one - for inside and out?

The rental vehicles a bit of a mess - not helped by the dusty soi I'm staying in. It needs a good clean before its handed back.

Thanks.

Theres one at the Grand hotel just before Sao Paulo and another at the PTT garage on the way out of town.

Great I was wondering the same thing as they do not seem to be as common as in UK. In fact I had never seen one. Something to do with the water shortage perhaps or just not caught on yet ??

There is also a car wash service in the underground car park of Hua Hin Market Village.

But it can be very busy at the weekend.

You sir are too kind, most people would not mind or care if a hire vechicle is a bit of a mess.

After all they do have people who clean them before the next hire, dont they ?

When I hired a car last time in Hua Hin the nice man told me not to worry if I got the car a bit dirty and this was during the Songkran.

I too did look, but the one at Tesco was very busy with vey big cars, very dirty big cars.

So i ended up just using a hose that had to get most of the white stuff off, and quickly dry it, before the sun did. the inside was not bad. My gf thought i had gone mad.

But still very commendable of you.

I've found the best and cheapest to be at the PTT garage on the way and just before Pranburi. Its a bit off the beaten track but I think its worth the drive. The one at Market Village is convenient but expensive.
There is also one I noticed near the railway line. If you were going out of town, before crossing the railway on the way to Pala U, take the road to your right running parallel with the railway line. The car wash is about 100 metres along on the right across from the various small shops. (Never used it).

Martin j, I appreciate your comments, but I'm renting via one of the big boys. I want my 20k deposit back with as least fuss as possible. I've run up a good few miles and I can still smell something nasty from the wifes village. Could be anything from the food to Water Buffalo dung!!! Also (sadly) minced at least one of our feathered friends who lost their game of chance against the farang - I take no pride in that. Not to mention what the step-son has been up to!

I'll use one of the options recommended and report back.

Cheers

I always rent with Budget and my car usually goes back minging, especially if I've been carting the in-laws around. I never get stung for cleaning costs and like to think I am keeping someone in employment by leaving the thing skanky! Even after Songkhran it was no problem.

Hi Jaime,
I never had a problem with Budget either, I must have used them at least ten times to go up to Buriram and they have never made a fuss about the cleanliness of the vehicle. I just used to throw a bucket of water at it and a quick wipe to stop it looking like I had been ploughing with the thing, and a quick check for any escaped frogs or land crabs!

I can recommend the Grand excellent job and just time to get a Pizza while you wait. I do it every year whether the truck needs a clean out or not.

I went with Avis for ease of pick up in Bkk (next to the Brit embassy). I figured they'd take it off the deposit and charge more for doing so. Maybe I'll take it back in the state its in and see what happens?

A quick up update for future reference.

I did have the car cleaned after all. Cost 150 baht in the night market area by the Grand Hotel. Excellent job, but with 2 cars in front it meant a wait of nearly 2 hours!

Another trip to Market Village took place while it was done!!!
