I believe this is the KBank deal available to Kasikorn Bank credit card holders.

Does anyone know the regular green fee of Milford Eagle? I know they have a discounted sports day in the middle of the week and a 2 golfer plus cart special on Sunday, but what are the regular weekday and Saturday prices?

I have finally played enough 18 hole rounds in the past year to calculate a handicap. I was using an online handicap calculator, but the problem is that most of the last 20 rounds I've played have been at the new Sea Pines Army course, Eagle Milford, and Dhanarat. None of the three scorecards or any websites I can find have a course rating or slope for any of those three courses.

Does anyone know what those are (course ratings and slopes) for the three named courses?

The calculator I'm using uses a standard rating of 72 and slope of 113 for unrated courses but I don't think this will give an accurate index.

You can use the old system, +17 over the par = handicap 17.

If you have played +10 on average you can consider yourself handicap 10.

For a senior an average of +9 to +18 over the par isn't bad at all.

How about if you struggle to hit 100 does that make you off the richer scale?

I've never played to a handicap system that takes into account slopes but I have with course difficulty which would have been called Standard Scratch Score when I was a junior in the UK. That was always the benchmark for calculating handicaps despite what the par was. For instance, my old home course only had two par 5s and so a par of 70. However, SSS was 72 so we always got a couple of shots extra. I'd suggest that on the courses you're playing you take handicap from par as Johan has said.
As far as up and down on the scale is concerned, maybe deduct from your handicap 0.3 of a shot per stroke you are under your handicap. Shoot a net 70 on a 72 par course and you get docked 0.6 which with rounding up and down would lose you a shot if you were off 18.0. (Handicap 17.4, therefore play off 17). For every shot over your handicap, add only 0.1!!
It's the way The Golf Society work things (I know JW's on the handicap committee so he can correct me if I'm wrong) and it seems to work.
No missing loads of short putts at the end of a round and hoping to get your handicap up significantly!!! It'll take you 10 rounds to increase by 1.0 However, if you're doing well you can see your handicap drop pretty quickly.
EDIT, EDIT: I meant a SSS of 68 so 2 under par, not 72. I always got it mixed up :banghead:

JG,
A 100 on a par 72 gives you a handicap of 28. Nothing wrong with that.

This is the new method of calculating handicaps.

In Oz anyway.

By the way, does golflink operate world wide or just Australia?

I played my first competition at 12 yrs old, at that time to get an handicap you needed to play under double bogey, i played +36 and i didn't get an handicap as i needed +35. I won that competition as it was only juniors beginners. I have been playing for 2 weeks at that time and really wanted that handicap.

From that day i didn't cared anymore about handicap. I only enjoy playing golf, driving far and playing good shots. I don't play for the score, the prizes or anything.

Lake view's great if you dont hit it very far. You simply land your tee shot in the fairway, and always guarantee a flyer for your next hit, because the fairways resemble a trodden down cabbage field. Try to avoid the the bunkers though, they're a bit like a pile of rock hard sand some shoddy builder has dumped outside your house. Some dont have rakes, so just flatten the sand back down with your welly. The locker room smells a bit like a sweaty Sunday league changing room, except with a bit more sweat and cheesy nut sac.

Greens are good sometimes. But if I wanted to spend 50 quid just to putt, Id rather go to the practice facility at Black Mountain every week for a year. Get some nice lunch there too, without the waft of a crusty sac drifting over my plate.

What's happened to that place? Years ago, Lakeview was one of the best in the area and now they seem to still be charging top prices but have the condition of one of the Pranburi military courses!
