The bus station you need is the one on Petchkasem Road south of Market Village on your left as you head into town from the flyover. It is a Thai style building and without buses in and out you would probably not realise it is a bus station.

We have used the VIP bus to Phuket on several occasions. They leave around 9/10 pm and arrive about 6am. Make sure you get your ticket from the bus station itself as it is a lot cheaper than paying a commision to one of the many agencies around town. From memory it was under a 1000 baht for a one way ticket.

Thanks for replies everyone. Starting to see the wood from the trees now.

I am thinking of travelling towards the end of the month so Ill probably go and grab my ticket next week. So as Mojo said as you come from the flyover from Khao Takiap it will be on the left hand side before Market Village. Does anyone know which Soi its near 94, 88 etc? Or does anyone have an address or landmark? (Theres bound to be a 7/11 near it lol) :thumb:

It is well before 94 and 88 but I am afraid I cannot tell you which soi is nearest. The best I can do is say it just before the u-turn by the Electricity office but I have a feeling you will not know where the electricity office is. If you have problems ask your Mum for my phone number and I will talk you through it - the trouble is if I mention shops they are bound to have closed down.

Thanks Moja and thanks everyone for your advice. I managed to find it tonight. Yes the building looks like a giant Thai Style house with a red roof. Its way below soi 94 (same side) round about the soi 98 mark.

The VIP bus ticket costs 756 baht and leaves from the bus station at 22:00 so need to go to the clock tower. Well booking ticket next week as I leave at the end of the month.

Thanks again..

Why do you need to go to the clock tower?

We bought our tickets from the bus station and also got the bus from there, I think you should check your ticket to make sure where you need to board the coach. Have a good trip.

When I've come on the VIP bus from Korat (that's going on to Phuket) it drops me at the clock-tower each time around 9.15 pm...but I did ask to be dropped there (as opposed to going to the bus station).
But at the time of buying your ticket I'd ask where the pick-up point is..this bus does not hang-around long before setting off en-route again.
