Post by anthonysmith571 »

I and my wife are looking for property investment in hua hin. We went through all the real estate agents and finally we liked a 3 bedroom pool villa from property hua hin today. We would like to know about some one who had a good experience from here. How would you recommend it?

Well dude, welcome to the forum.

You'll find, upon investigation of the forum, that pretty much most of the sponsors (if you mean Hua Hin Property) of the forum are OK. If not, then they'll get a good 'radishing', as Mr. Cornhole (a poster) puts it, from someone.

There are countless threads about OK builders and dodgy ones if you have time to investigate.

Best advice is to not be hasty and bide your time so that you get wised up on the local score with this subject.

I appreciate your reply but I did not get exactly 100% of what you are trying to say. Can you plz explain me in details about it. It would be really helpful.

Thanks for your advise, I would surely consider it...

You cannot talk about property companies on this forum without getting a good kick up the rear end. What spitfire is saying is your best bet is to stay here for a while examine all your options, speak to as many people as you can about there experiences. A few buyers have been taken to the cleaners through various ways, not sorting out the legalities or not fully understanding them, houses that have been shoddy or not completed. As with everything, buyer beware. On the other side there are hundreds of satisfied buyers and good builders and sellers. That's why Spitfire say's bide your time or spend alot of time investigating.

You mentioned Hua Hin Today. That is the local newspaper... was the property you saw in an independent ad in that (online) paper or what. I don't believe Hua Hin Today is a property shop, though they may be affiliated with a few as advertisers. What was the actual name of the property or development?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Have a look at this recent thread viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17452

Personally I would never consider a retirement/holiday home as an investment although it may have some potential to earn income, but not always the best of returns. It's hard enough to speculate in your homeland market let alone elsewhere.

To clarify, in the past this forum has been threatened and sued by a number of the larger property agents/developers over content that people have posted here which is why we do not allow slanderous comments to be made without solid evidence or links to property companies. To put it mildly it is a minefield out there when dealing with the plethora of Hua Hin's real estate businesses, tread carefully.

Are you looking for an investment or a home? Rent something for 6 months and look around and ask more questions regarding the pitfalls, there are plenty. Remember why are you choosing Thailand and find a place with that in mind, do you really want to be 10km from a decent beach?

It was good to hear from you, I am looking for an investment. I didn't get your last question,
do you really want to be 10km from a decent beach?
Can you elaborate more about this thing.

There is something that I have started feeling in the boardroom. People do look for wrong things but they can't extend their help.
