Hi all

Need some advice, we are wanting to get to Prachuap khiri khan 77000. from Pattaya in mid October.

Considering private taxi but don't have any idea on the price.

Other ideas please with costs, no buses taking all day please only over for a few weeks

Thanks for any contributions

There is no quick way to my knowledge. Even with the ferry to Hua Hin, you would then need a taxi to get down there, if you don't want to use a bus. From Pattaya I would venture to guess a direct taxi would be around 5,000. You could possibly rent a car with a turn in at Hua Hin before or after your visit to PKK, check with the major people in Pattaya; Budget, Hertz, Avis. Pete

Mini Bus from Pattaya to Victoria Monument in Bangkok costs under Bht150 and time is less than 1.5 hrs. From Victoria Monument to Hua Hin there is a mini bus every 15/30 mins. Time to Hua Hin is 2.5 hours and cost Bht180

According to their homepage the ferry is not running during low season, starts only end of october.
There is also a minibus from Pattaya to Hua Hin every two hours for 400 Baht.

From Pattaya I would venture to guess a direct taxi would be around 5,000.
I would have thought you could probably get this a little cheaper - not positive though.

I take a taxi back from central bangkok a couple of times a month and it costs 1800 baht, so adding the extra 80 km (?) to Prachuap and however many kilometers to Pattaya from Central Bangkok shouldn't be 3000 + more I don't think.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

Regarding mini buses, price and convenience may be on your side, but then also worth remembering the complete lack of driving skills or safety considerations with most of the lunatics operating them. Definitely a roll of the dice on that one.
