Any Squash players out there?

Post by Woody »

I am looking for regular playing partners if anyone is up for it? Believe it or not there are three courts in Hua Hin; Hilton, Palm Hills and Dusit Thani.

Ping me if interested!

Cheers

would be interested when i'm at home on leaves (in between golf) but need to get the rackets re-strung as they haven't been used for about 5 years. Are you in Hua Hin full-time?

I played at Palm Hills up until a few years ago, gave up as it was really hard to find regular partners and now the knees are shot.

sjpthsuk - great, just send me a pm when you are up for it. Yeh I am in HH full time.

Dozer thats the problem.... Finding regular players. There are not too many here. I had to resort to paying the gym guy at the Hilton to have a knock with me. It was like 200 Baht for the court and 300 baht to him. So 500 Baht for a quick 30 minute knock. I cant do that every week.... Well, I can of course but its just the principal of it like; 500 baht to buy a buddy for half hour lol.

Definitely interested. Bit rusty round the fringes, but a lifelong player. I'm currently finishing off a contract in Germany and will PM contributors to the thread when I am back - probably the end of September.

I would have thought that there would have been quite a few players here now, considering the increase in expats in the last 10 years. I will see if any of my old playing partners are around and if they still play. I am sure you would be more than welcome.

Give it a go when you are back mate, you might get back into it again. I have played on and off for 20 odd years, since I was a teenager. I was good as a kid but ive lost my edge now and would be considered just a knocker, I guess.

There probably are quite a few but I guess its one of those sports that you just dont think about in Thailand. And with all the golf here, I guess most blokes are commited to that, time wise.

Nice one for offering to reach out to a few people that you know mate, I appreciate that

I've found it difficult in the past. I had a 1 year membership at the hilton and managed to get a few people out the odd once or twice, but either you need a term membership, or it gets a bit expensive to play regularly. I'm quite happy to pay the term membership if I get to play regularly, but not everyone is.

Hello Woody,
I will gladly play when in Hua Hin next time, usually two times per year. When back I'll search the forum to pm you if it's still interresting. I started playing regularly back in the 70', after that it's been on and off until the last years when I'm at it again (in spite of doctor's considerations)

Hi Woody, might be an idea to go to Palm Hills and ask staff if there are any regulars playing there with fixed bookings etc, if so just turn up and see who wants a game.

My nephews would/will be up to it on term break, me, well beyond it.

Cheers
