I think you misunderstood my postings, I never said I don't like using agents, I just loath the bad agents. I have bought/sold/owned/own properties in several countries and I always used the services of real estate agents.

TT

Thanks for your response, yes totally misunderstood but after your bad dealings here again I do understand but not all are bad and some do a very good job and I feel if you can find the correct one, they can be very informative/knowledgeable and possible get you a better price as local agents know the developer's better and have a stronger bond with them

May I suggest Glen at Pro Real Estate as ive found him to be the above and also many advertisers on here have recommended his services as a reliable agent "even me"

Sincerely

I have an e-mail address that I use when purchasing items over the internet, you can e-mail me there: zr2994@yahoo.com

BTW, it's funny how these forums work, even though I have never posted the names of the agents I worked with, one of them called me about my postings here to explain few things, so I understand a little bit more about the "system" (or lack of) in HH. I had no idea that some condos are not "open" to all real estate agents, and the agents can only sell their own inventory. That sure is a hard way to make a living!

You should have been aware to be honest TT, maybe you simply forgot the info some of us gave you on here last year while you were starting to look. Take a look at your 'is there a MLS service here' thread, me and hhfarang advised you they are not in use here and you need to check out the listings at every agent, and spend time looking round on the ground, but you did seem more intent on putting local agents down instead. I'm not a local agent by the way.

If you'd have googled 'Real Estate Agents Thailand', near the top everytime would be the biggest international broker in the country (I think), the sole agents for your Amari resort, blaming every agent who isn't representing them for not giving you a tour, isn't cricket I'm afraid. And how on earth did you miss them on the ground, they're not exactly conspicuous on the edge of the main road into Takiab :D

Good luck with it though, it looks first class from their marketing details.
Take a look at your 'is there a MLS service here' thread, me and hhfarang advised you they are not in use here and you need to check out the listings at every agent.
I knew there wasn't MLS there but I was led to believe that the agents of different companies "work together" and have their own "unofficial MLS" system. Nobody ever told me that not all condos are "open" to all agents, and to be honest with you, I still don't understand how could lets say the Sumadra be "open" to "Agent A" but not "open" to "Agent B" it just doesn't make sense. Welcome to Thailand?! :) :) :)

After talking with JW, we concluded it's time to stop the bickering and there are no productive reasons to continue posting in this thread anymore, so before I "check out" I would like to thank everybody for their advice and inputs.

Most of the time they can, and do work together, but obviously not every case 'sole agency' being a prime example.

HHFarang wrote:TT, having been a part time agent in Florida, I know what you are talking about and the answer is no. There is no multiple listing service in Hua Hin or Thailand for that matter. You just have to search diligently through all the agencies listings and listings of non-agencies like the one on HHAD and hope you can find what you are looking for. The property business is pretty much a free-for-all buyer beware situation here.
That's a recipe for disaster! Thanks for the info anyway.
