Bangkok Post Delivery Box

Post by PeteC »

Trivial question, but what the heck. We just found a service who delivers the paper daily out here in the Rayong sticks. He says the BPP doesn't have delivery boxes to mount on your gate. They used to as we were given them free twice when we lived near Pattaya years ago. Do they supply these to subscribers down in Hua Hin? With the rainy season here it's a good thing to have. The supplies of the BP were always much more efficient in the Patters area than in HH Pete - even before the 'new' road from Bkk to Patters.
There has been a much more recent business in HH which was providing copies of any national or international paper to order - but I don't know if that is still in operation - and while I was living in HH from 99 to end of 2005 the only way to get the BP was from a newsagent. By then they were arriving in HH at the crack of dawn to town centre newsagents, which meant basically to one on Petkhasem and a couple of others.
Distribution will certainly have improved by now with the advent of Market Village, but I've never seen dedicated BP delivery boxes in HH. The BP itself is now available online so I guess they don't think they need to bother too much about hard copy deliveries out in the sticks. It's still IMO one of the best daily papers available - and founded by a Scotsman!

I checked everywhere in HH but no delivery services where I live SO I finally bit the bullet and purchased the Online edition and receive it every morning now. Had to get a large monitor and desktop computer (which I can use for business work) to really be able to read it without too much hassle (enlarging small areas and moving all over page to see/read it all is a pain on a small laptop). No more trips to Market Village, 7-11, downtown to find a Post. If only worth the cost of gas alone very worth it. $78 per year and subscriptions available by month, months or year basis.
