Great race and Button took it on the last lap after a mistake by Vettel per reports. Only RZR and Terry picked Button to win. Pharvey, myself, RZR and Terry had the best race with 11 points. No one picked the fastest lap this week which went to Button as well. I've managed to catch Randy, both of us with 83 points with Pharvey lurking at 82 and Parahandy, Vital Spark and Pitsch with 81.

Next up is the European GP in Valencia on June 26. Good luck to all. :thumb: Pete

Vettel does it yet again. I've now officially lost count. Seven of us picked him to win. Randy and Parahandy had the best race, both with 14 points. Randy remains in first place with 97 points.

Next up is the British GP on July 10. Good luck to all. :thumb: Pete

Well, well, Vettel did not win this one. Alonso takes it and only Richard picked him to win. Good one Richard. Alonso also had the fastest lap which no one picked. Perhaps Ferrari has dispatched all its demons now and they'll make a run of it, we'll see. Reading reports the win was not totally due to Red Bull pit stop errors, but that Ferrari had the faster car this week.

Randy and I share the lead this week with 108, with Parahandy lurking at 107.

Get out your lederhosen, the German GP is next on July 24, good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

I gave up lurking some years ago, but I'm well into Lederhosen.

Oh, the touch and sniff of the leather, but I digress...

Please don't mention this to Ms. Spark.

Webber will re-sign, says Red Bull

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/ ... -red-bull/

Australian Mark Webber, centre of a furious 'team orders' row with his team chiefs during the British Grand Prix, will re-sign with Red Bull, the stable's owner insisted on Wednesday.

Webber, in a clearly faster car, decided to ignore instructions from the pit wall that he should not close in on second-placed Red Bull team-mate and championship leader Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel, struggling for competitive speed on worn tyres, came home second behind triumphant Ferrari hero Spaniard Fernando Alonso, who registered the Italian team's first win this season and set up a possible revival in fortunes.

The second placed finish helped defending champion Vettel increase his runaway lead in the title race to 80 points ahead of Webber, who is now second - but with little hope of fighting for the title if Red Bull have chosen to back Vettel against him.

Webber admitted he was furious and had not obeyed the orders as he fought to beat his team-mate, and will clearly need some convincing to stay with the team - 12 months earlier he had won at Silverstone and famously quipped "not bad for a number two driver" on his slowing down lap.

But Red Bull boss Dieter Mateschitz told autosport.com on Wednesday that there were absolutely no doubts that Webber would stay with the outfit next year.

"Mark Webber will re-sign with us," Mateschitz said.

"This will happen for sure. He is very popular within the team, he feels very comfortable and it is an excellent relationship. He knows this and we know it.

"To be honest, Mark has no better choice than the fastest car and we have no better choice for a fast driver."

The Red Bull boss also admitted he was fine with Webber having tried to overtake Vettel despite the order given to him.

"This is no problem for us," Mateschitz said. "Sebastian realised that Fernando Alonso was gone and could not be caught anymore, so he backed down. This let Mark close in. He would be a very bad racer had he not tried to attack and gain a position."

............................................................................................
Not sure just where "sport" comes into this? If Mateschitz was "fine" with Webber trying to overtake, then why the order on the radio to "maintain the gap"? I think it was some sort of "makeup" to Vettel after his stuffed up pit stop. :tsk: It is also pandering to Vettel to blatantly say that he "backed down" thus allowing Webber to catch up!

I do not know what it is, but Webber repeatedly has given away his position at the start of the race. He did it again this time, allowing Vettel to get past him just off the grid. :?

Miracle of miracles I find myself with best week at 13 points and at the top of the board this week with 121. Only reason being I picked Hamilton for fastest lap along with RZR. RZR and Richard where the only two to pick Hamilton to win. Randy, Parahandy, Pitsch and Pharvey round out the top five in the standings.

To Budapest now with a quick turnaround race next Sunday, July 30. Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

Richard and Lindosfan had the best race this week, both with 12 points. No one picked Button to win, or Massa to have the fastest lap. I'm hanging on to the top by the skin of my teeth with 131, with Randy and Parahandy at 130, and Pitsch and Pharvey at 127.

Summer holidays now with the Belgiam GP coming up on 28 August. Good luck to all! :thumb: Pete

Just finished watching the race. Yeh, I know we're two days late, but not having UBC we get the BBC one downloaded. Started watching it last night too late and snoozed off during the really interesting bits!!! The commentary with David and Martin is infinitely better than Star Sports. One lovely ex-racing driver who didn't quite make it, having fun with an equally gorgeous successful ex-racing driver. They both know what they're talking about and make the watching experience (even during a dull race) hugely entertaining and informative.

Mr.VS seems to have the upper hand (as far as this pool is concerned  ) this year, but I can still have fun battling it out with Lindos again.

Looking forward to Spa in three weeks time. A beautiful track with unpredictable weather. Should be fun...

Well, I am glad to see that somebody else has a negative comment about the commentary on Star Sports. Steve Slater maybe a first class %anker, but he does at least keep on top of it and it is possible to understand his spiel.
But Gary Anderson is just plain ridiculous! He is very knowledgeable on technical matters, but what is the point when it is only possible to understand about 30% of that which he mumbles.
In addition about half of his commentary is "you know", "you know". NO, we don`t f..en know, that is why we have commentators! :cuss:

Anyway, it was good to see Jenson Button have a win, but he should have a quite word with his lecherous looking Father about slobbering all over his girlfriend! :tsk:

Mr.VS made exactly the same comment, but, personally, I think he's jealous  . She is a stunning looking girl and knocks the spots of Mr. Lewis' other half.
