Just looking for some feedback on what others think.
Would you think it to be safe in mid August to drive from Bangkok to Hua Hin at around 2am in a pre booked taxi?

Yes, as safe as you'll ever be on the road in Thailand.
This is the way

I would certainly consider it especially if using my regular Taxi Firm.dtaai-maai wrote:Yes, as safe as you'll ever be on the road in Thailand.

Probably safer at 2am than 7-8am when the kamikaze kids are going to school and people to work.

I always go the other way around that time from HH to the airport, no problems and super quick as no traffic on the road. In fact I will be doing it on 3rd August. PM me if you want the name of my regular taxi service.

Just make sure you sit where you can see the driver's eyes in the mirror. I've had a couple that I had to keep poking to keep them from falling asleep.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

No chance of me doing that HHF 'cos at 2am I am on my way home after my final night out and I am the one fast asleep

Thanks for the replies!
Yes, any road trip in Thailand is a roll of the dice.
I will be sure to sit next to the driver and keep him awake.
