I'd rather have the snakes than those damned myna birds! They sh*t everywhere worse than pigeons and make a lot of noise, eat the dry dog food and make a mess of it on the porch, and if I chase them away from it they go to the nearest tree and start screeching at me! My male dog hates them too. All I have to say is "get them birds" (I'm teaching him redneck talk :D ) and he tears out after the nearest ones chasing them away. He's never caught one yet but Buddha help it if he does!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Some friends of mine from rural America recommended I rub some mentholated ointment or tabasco over the suspected snake entry points into my kitchen, as apparently they irritate the snakes skin. However, it isn't practical to do that where the snake entered last time.

Also, I had the paranoid thought: What if the snake tolerates the irritation to enter my room, but then balks about crossing it again to exit.
