reliable local builder

Post by sshuahin »

We have recently purchased a stand alone house on 448m2, located 4 kms from Hua Hin. We would like to employ a reliable local builder to construct a covered open outdoor, entertainment area (app 24m2).
Please advise contact details if posssible.

Thank you appreciate any assistance - we are pretty new kids on the block.

for a sail cloth type shade contact Vince at castashadow

Vince@CastaShadowAsia.com

or

info@castashadowAsia.com

if its a tiled roof/ column type you want then it will cost about 5500-6000 baht per sqm.
including all materials,(but thats a guestimate based on basic structure, roof tiles, tiled floor, electricity.)

guttering is an extra,as would be fancy stuff.

Not sure it's in the forum rules, so appologies mods - delete if necessarry.

I would have sent you a PM, but as you only have 1 post you wouldn't be able to open it. I would suggest contacting SJ (''Super Joe'') on this forum ...... without 10 posts not too sure how, and I won't post his number or email here without his consent obviously.

SJ has helped us out a fair bit at our place including an extension to the terrace which has worked out very well - and at very competitive prices.

I suggest you change your caption to "Local Builder". The term "reliable" should not be applied to anyone in this trade.
Builders will quote you a firm and final all inclusive price, and yet there will always be additional "unforeseen" charges in the end. This applies not only to Thailand but seems to be a worldwide phenomenom.
Good hunting.

As per my above post, hence the recommendation. I can certainly understand your point from earlier experience LP, but SJ and his team are bl**dy good in my book.

Thanks. I'll bear that in mind. I just love surprises. Especially the positive ones!

a quote from any builder is only as good as the information you give him.
a drawing on the back of a napkin drawn over a dinner will always cause problems and extras.
detailed drawings ensure that there is no confusion over what is expected as you can always revert to the drawings. :D

Thanks everyone - have changed the subject line to local builder (I think)
SJ sounds good - not sure how to contact him?

I will contact Vince, as advised - does he do construction or just sails?

Being a complete Muppet  I'd forgotten SJ can be contacted through ''Hua Hin Alarms'' through this site. Look down the menu on the right hand side of the page and click on the ''Hua Hin Alarms" tab.
