Snooker and Billiards

Post by richard »

Anyone know of a farang friendly place with a proper full size snooker table?

I used to know a couple a few years back but they seem to have dissolved

Got a mate coming over who would like a game. Neither he or I are really any good but who cares

Isn't the one at Grand Plaza good anymore? It used to be the place I'd go for a game of snooker and it was Farang friendly.

There is a snooker hall on the Pala-U rd, heading out of Hua Hin, just before the elephant village. You can't miss it, has pool/snooker balls painted on the walls. Heading out of hua hin in the direction of the monkol temple, before you climb the hill, it's on the right side of the road.

It's a fairly new place, opened about 1-2 years ago.

I've never been there, so not sure if is farang friendly, but surely if it involves extracting money from your wallet, I'm sure they will be friendly enough...... :D

I've played in a couple of Thai poolroms and never a problem. They are there to play pool same as you and the game can bring people together. A few beers and all is well.

Pool (little boy snooker) OK

but I am looking for a full size snooker/billiard table. There's got to some outside of a posh place. How else do the Asians get into world snooker?

I think Kurtz still has a couple of full size tables at the Jailhouse 'Ichard. Upstairs first floor. If they are still there (no reason to think otherwise) they will be kept in good condition.

I would think that the Asians get into Snooker the same way as they get into Golf or tennis........Rich parents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
