Big Kiang could be one of the places to buy. Here you'll find some comparison prices:

Home Pro and Tesco also sell power tools.
Just be sure to purchase a known reputable brand rather than a cheap no-name variety made in China.

^ Yes, that place is great, plus they have the biggest selection of water pumps I've seen here too!

I once brought a Gazeebo from there. There was a mild gust of wind outside my home and it blew a tear in the canopy.

I took it back and they refused to refund or replace as "Can not use outside because Hua Hin have a lot of wind".

I asked them fwhere else you are supposed to put a gazeebo apart from outside, but they simply stared at me open mouthed like I just asked them the square root of 9 or something.

I also once brought a solar powered light. I wanted 15 of them but brought one to test. It didnt work. I took it back and it was explained to me that "this week rain mark mark mai mee sun".

So apparently solar powered lights only work outsid on sunny days, according to Home Pro.

You couldnt pay me to shop in there now.

We have used Home Pro on many occasions and I have never had an issue, always found the service to be polite and helpful.
Just recently we had a defective motor out of a ceiling fan replaced, we had purchased the unit 2 years previously, the motor has a 10 year warranty and they replaced it, no fuss whatsoever.

You are very lucky indeed dozer, we've never had any luck with them on service or returns.

Yes, I was quite surprised and I actually told my wife to forget about it and we would buy a new fan.

Ditto - try returning a few boxes of broken tiles, or anything for that matter. :cuss:

Upon asking for a discount I was directed to a carousel offering a cuddly toy, fondue set or portable walrus cleaning kit to choose from.

Do you know if the portable walrus cleaning kit is still available

Very funny story, made me laugh.
Though I must say I love the place, it’s a day out, we go there armed with a list, have a little lunch then the wife and the list pop off up to home pro, I go out have a beer or 2 at the front, the wife returns with our bits, and a good day I get change for the 1000 or so she relieved me of just be fore saying enjoy your beer.

I bought a basic but good quality home phone from Home Pro for over 1,000 Baht. I later found that it had been used already, as there were notable signs of wear, where the handset sits in the base. There was also a fault with it also misdialing numbers. Possibly it had been returned but put on the shelf again.

I'm just writing this to urge others to check the items carefully before paying for them. I never had the time to try to return it so I don't know whether this would be been successfully done.
