Thai property taxation

Post by taffinexile »

I am due to dispose of a property soon in Hua Hin, all the relevant fees and withholding taxes will be paid. Will I be liabel to pay income tax on it the residual amount? I am a non resident. If I get the money paid in Baht, into an account held by a Foriegn exchange company before being converted and sent to my home country, will they hold back any money they think may be due to the Thai government?

To keep the thread going until the experts get here. I think question one is a no in that I've never heard of it happening before. Question two I think a no also, but they may ask you for documents showing you have paid the appropriate government fees. Pete

PS: Check exchange rates to see if converting here will be better or worse than sending Baht to your home country to be converted there.
